Medical Illustrations of the Cardiovascular System

This gallery shows medical illustrations completed by the team referring to the cardiovascular system of the heart, as well as the blood vessels and the blood. Cardiology is the branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The field is commonly divided in the branches of coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. We can cover any area of the cardiovascular system, and if any examples are not here then we can create illustrations bespoke to you and your project.

Interesting Facts about the Heart

The pumping heart is responsible for getting the constant supply of oxygen the human body needs, around the blood vessels to the tissues that need it. As air is breathed in through the mouth and nose, it travels to the lungs, where Oxygen from the air is absorbed into the bloodstream. The heart then pumps oxygen-rich 'oxygenated' blood through a network of blood vessels - the arteries - to tissues including organs, muscles and nerves. The heart continues to pump the now used or 'de-oxygenated' bloodback back to the lungs, where fresh oxygen is absorbed, & the cycle starts once again.

The Medical Illustration Team

Our medical illustrators deal with illustrating the structure and anatomy, disease as well as function of all areas involved within the 'cardiovascular system'. Joanna as lead artist regularly produces illustrations concerning this area of medicine. We can also provide animations and video if you want illustrations for a particular need, as a teaching tool or for a website. Contact the team if you require cardiovascular illustrations as our medical illustrators are trained in anatomy as well as art, and can use their skills to illustrate all of the cardiovascular areas, regularly working with surgeons and medical experts.
