Medical Illustrations of the Cardiovascular System
This gallery shows medical illustrations completed by the team referring to the cardiovascular system of the heart, as well as the blood vessels and the blood. The cardiovascular system is made up of the heart and circulatory system. The heart pumps the blood to organs and tissues and the blood delivers the oxygen.
Cardiology is the branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The field is commonly divided in the branches of coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. We can cover any area of the cardiovascular system, and if any examples are not here then we can create illustrations bespoke to you and your project.
Facts about the Heart
The pumping heart is responsible for getting the constant supply of oxygen the human body needs, around the blood vessels to the tissues that need it. As air is breathed in through the mouth and nose, it travels to the lungs, where oxygen from the air is absorbed into the bloodstream. The heart then pumps oxygen-rich or oxygenated blood through a network of blood vessels called the arteries to tissues including organs, muscles and nerves. The heart continues to pump the now used or de-oxygenated blood back back to the lungs, where fresh oxygen is absorbed, & the cycle starts once again.
