New Project Win – Oxford University Press
Project Description
Medical-artist.com are delighted to announce that they were chosen as the medical artist agency to supply medical illustrations for flagship SCIMED titles, Annals of Oncology published by Oxford University Press.
We were commissioned after going through an approval process. We provided a detailed quotation based on the project brief as well as providing similar illustrations examples we had completed for other for medical journals. The project brief was for the creation of medical diagrams and anatomical charts concerning oncology for enhancing written documentation and to explain scientific data in an engaging way to be used within the Oxford Journals. The aim to provide 6-8 figures per month on a rolling basis.
Project Goals
The project goal from the start will be to work in partnership with OUP and we started by initially advising on illustration style and colour palette with the aim to complement the journals and to improve on the existing diagrams used by the journal. By helping with the design specifications we could add our expertise on what would be the best way to create the illustrations. The journal is looking at having 3-4 figures redrawn for around 24 papers per year or typically to complete 6-8 jobs per month on a rolling basis.
The journal was seeking something quite polished—a heavier redraw with more enhancement than they would typically expect for journals work, and something that looks and feels ‘value-added’. We are excited to be working with Oxford University Press and for the long term.
