A Ph.D. or Doctorate of Philosophy to be carried out at The University of Surrey.
We have great pleasure in announcing that Joanna Culley from Medical-Artist.com has been accepted to complete a Ph.D. at the University of Surrey, Guildford. The study is going to be carried out part time so Joanna can continue to work as a medical artist.
A Ph.D. candidate must submit a project, thesis or dissertation often consisting of a body of original academic research, which is in principle worthy of publication in a peer-reviewed journal. The study chosen by Joanna will be using Joanna’s skills as a medical artist working with scientists at the University to document and record the pathogenesis of rare diseases.
Surrey University has a long history and in 2016 Surrey celebrated its 125th anniversary. While the institution has evolved significantly in that time, the commitment to first-rate academic activity and real-world solutions has remained constant.
With its growing expertise in fields such as sustainable energy, telecommunications, space, disease control and health, the University remains passionate about turning the new knowledge it generates into practical innovations that improve people’s lives. To be part of this is an amazing prospect for Joanna to not only enhance her skills as a medical artist but to use the medical art as a profession for continued health and medical education and communications.
