The Tulsa Plastic Surgery Project

Our client is The Tulsa Plastic Surgery located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. Its surgeon is Dr. Arch Miller considered one of the premier cosmetic surgeons in this region and is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The project was to supply medical illustrations ready for Dr. Arch Miller to submit within a manuscript to the Journal Archives of Plastic Surgery. The purpose of the illustrations to describe a new breast reconstructive surgery technique developed for the larger sized women. This unique project needed to depict stages of the procedure and to demonstrate how the technique rids the patient of the remnant roll of fat in the axilla during the procedure.

Target Audience

The journal, Archives of Plastic Surgery (Arch Plast Surg, APS) is the official journal of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and is published six times per year. It is a peer reviewed, open access journal that publishes articles in all fields of plastic and reconstructive surgery including basic research, wound healing, congenital, craniofacial surgery, facial trauma, microsurgery, burns, tumour, breast surgery, hand surgery, and aesthetic surgery related to all areas of plastic surgery. The illustrations therefore were for an audience of medical experts needing a high degree of realism, detail and anatomical accuracy.
