The drawMD Ophthalmology content was developed by physicians and clinical practitioners to facilitate discussions of the most common ophthalmology conditions and procedures. The two doctors in the US Todd Morgan, M.D Associate Professor and Alexander Kutikov, MD, FACS, had the ambition to add a new dimension to doctor to patient communications through the use of an app and medical illustrations. The aim of the drawMD platform is for doctors to use the app to easily annotate on the medical illustration and communicate medical information to their patients. To quickly engage with patients in a meaningful way.
drawMD enhances doctor-patient communication for explaining complex issues and their possible medical and surgical solutions.
Designed seeking to improve patient understanding of medical problems, drawMD utilises the iPad’s unique interface to allow anyone to sketch, stamp, or type directly on the detailed anatomic images included in the application. The illustrations were completed by Joanna Culley and each individually drawn to met the requirements of the drawMd team and the team of expert physicians and clinical practitioners.
Commissioned by drawMD over a three year period producing anatomical medical illustrations for a range of their apps, Joanna was a featured medical artist enjoying a long and collaborative relationship.
