The Project Brief for the Creation of Medical Illustrations

Les Lindsay from The Diabetic Boot Company Ltd trading as Pulseflow Technologies required a range of anatomical illustrations for use on its website and for use within printed formats to assist in the marketing and promotion of the medical device – the Pulseboot.

The purpose of the illustrations to tell a visual story as to the multiple benefits of the Pulseboot product with regards to diabetes related issues with the foot and leg.

The illustrations have a target audience of health professionals who are involved with treating relevant ailments and the general public, both patients and those people investigating potential treatments for patients.

Les Lindsay, CEO, The Diabetic Boot Company Ltd

“To whom it may concern;

I have been delighted by the work Jo has produced for me. My briefing to her wasn’t that specific when I started the discussions, but by a process of iteration, we have arrived at illustrations that I believe really get across the physiological mechanisms I wanted to introduce my prospective customers to. She is a pleasure to work with, and hits the deadlines and budgets agreed. You feel you have a close collaborator when you work with Jo, not someone just providing a service.

I have to admit, I had never used a medical illustrator before, and relied upon either general artwork creation, or stock images. I can now see the great benefits from having someone with a total command of physiology and body systems to marry the artwork to the concept delivery to my literature and web viewers.

Jo thinks ahead, and plans for future requirements for such things as animation of the images, and technical requirements to make the artwork future proofed as much as possible.

I am entirely confident in recommending Jo’s professionalism and skills to anyone in need of such medical illustrations.”
