Using artists from the MAA, find out about the latest techniques in orthopaedic surgery, innovative developments in prosthetics and the importance of training to muscle development. Joanna Culleys exhibition used GB hockey player Richard Smith as her model, to demonstrate the benefits of exercise shown by comparing healthy anatomy to unhealthy. The heart, the knee joint and muscle fitness can all be attributed to cardiovascular & resistance training that results in increased size, amount of blood vessels and flexibility for example.
